Cottages to Community:
The Story of West Vancouver’s Neighbourhoods

Francis Mansbridge with photographs by John Moir. 2011.

The title tells the story. In a little over 100 years, West Vancouver grew from cottages along the shoreline into neighbourhoods and a community. This coffee table book of personal memories and current and historic photos tells the stories of West Vancouver’s neighbourhoods, their unique development and character that remains true today.

Cottages to Community is no longer available to purchase but it can be found at the West Vancouver Memorial Library.  We hope to re-issue this book one day.

We acknowledge that we are on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Squamish Nation, Tsleil-Waututh Nation and Musqueam Nation. We recognize and respect them as nations in this territory, as well as their historic connection to the lands and waters around us since time immemorial
