Join Stephen Price, President of the WVHS, for a brief overview of the historical importance of the cemetery, the monuments to West Vancouver's veterans that can be found there, and the developing plans to ensure that we continue to tell the stories of those who have come before us.

About the event
2026 marks the centennial year not only for the West Van Legion, but also for the Capilano View Cemetery. The Capilano View Cemetery is notable in its design: it is intentionally a park-like setting that invites visitors of all kinds, not just those who visit to honour and remember those buried there.

A seasoned studio and touring musician, Checo has performed alongside Marvin Gaye, The Commodores, and Lionel Richie, helping shape the sound of R&B through the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. As a member of the band Nova, he contributed to their successful 1980 album before turning his focus to gospel music. In 1985, Checo released a solo gospel album—performing all instruments himself.
